I just thought of something! What if Slendy here does not kill people purposefully, what if his hugs are so amazing that people literally explode from pure happiness, and he is searching for someone that is able to handle that amount of happiness and joy without exploding, but he is adorably shy choosing to sneak up on people and be a hugging ninja, rather than trying to ask (he kept getting rejected, he does have no mouth or face for that fact and people got scared and kept running away from him)... Well that is my theory
